2018 Goals

Hello lovelies,

I’m finally getting around to writing my list of goals for this year, the last time I wrote a post like this was way back in 2015 so I thought it might be quite fun to go back and see how I got on with all of those.

So first things first I put how I wanted to keep a journal … well that one didn’t quite go to plan but I must really like that idea because it is also on this years list.

Next up was all about scrapbooking (oh how I love a good scrapbook) I did keep up with this quite well although not really with the project life style.

Then I said how I wanted to write at least one blog post a week … Hmm yeah I didn’t really keep up with that one did I? But to be a bit fair a heck of a lot happened in 2015 so I think I can let myself off.

I also wanted to read more (30 books) is what I put, didn’t do that but again I did spend most of that year in hospital and my mind was on other things so I’m happily moving this one across to this years list, but more on that later.

Number 5 was get to get my nail’s back into shape. HAHAHA! is all I have to say to that!

Next was to take more pictures. Now this is another one I got on quite well with, granted from July that year most of the pictures where of Delilah but that is kind of a given.

Then I planned on saving, Hmm this one didn’t quite go to plan either. most of 2015 was basically spent in hospital so there wasn’t really a chance to save.

Next up my plan was to get another guinea pig as I had lost one of my four and felt like Albie was a little lonely, but before I even had a chance to really get onto that I lost two more of the little guy’s first Gatsby and then Albie leaving me with Astala who we thought we where going to lose too because it seemed to be a problem with where I got them from but I think Astala was clearly from a different breeder one because he looked so different from the others and two because we had him right up until February of this year. I miss them all so much but I think I have too much going on with my girlies right now to get a pet.

next up I wanted to take better care of myself, which is something else that didn’t happen much at all.

Then lastly Ben and I started trying for a baby which was a scary thing to think about after we lost Jaime, thankfully this is one thing that did happen for us even if Delilah liked to shock us all by arriving 16 weeks early. And trying for a baby is so not on this years list haha.

Right now lets actually get onto this years list shall we? 2018 hasn’t started off great I’ll be honest too many things haven’t quite gone to plan and Ben spent new years day in agony with toothache. But there is still time to make this a bloody good year and this is how I want to do it.

1 Read, Read, Read.

like on my other goals list I’ve set myself a little challenge to read at least 30 books. This is one that I am really looking forward to because I love reading but since Arabella made her appearance I just haven’t had the time. But fingers crossed both her and Delilah will work with my plan this year. And hopefully I can start back doing my book review posts again too.

2 Penny A Day Challenge.

You may have heard of the penny a day challenge before its basically where you have a pot and on the first of January you put 1p into the pot and then on the second day you put 2p third day 3p and so on and so forth until December 31st when you put £3.65 in and over the course of the year you save £667.95. This year I’m hoping this will be a tad easier too stick to and even when it gets to the more expensive days later on in the year if you think of it as basically a cup of coffee a day then its not so bad.

3 Start Journaling Again.

I know I said this before but I really do think that Journaling is a beautiful way to document everything that happens in life and I think it is something nice for the kid’s to read back on when there older too. So now I just have to find the time (Hmm)

4 Visit more places.

This year Ben has a car so we really want to make the most of that and whenever we get a chance so and visit somewhere a little bit interesting. I really want to focus on anywhere haunted in the Berkshire area so if you know of anywhere please do let me know.

5. Photo A Day.

Just like in 2015 I want to take more pictures and I feel like I used to do this all the time. But Arabella has also got that second/forth child thing going on that I have hardly picked up a camera since having her and I want her to have tons of baby pictures (more like toddler pictures at this rate but you get my point) So I have set myself a little challenge of making sure I take at least one picture a day. Again I might do a post every now and then with a few of my favourites.

And that’s my goals for 2018 basically not too much so I wont actually just get on and do them all but enough that its a challenge.

I hope you enjoyed reading and let me know all about your goals for this year. But for now,

Thanks for reading.

Lindsey Kelk The Single Girl’s To-Do List Review

goldness 002

Firstly sorry i haven’t posted a book review for the last few week’s but what with Christmas and New year everything has been a little hectic to say the least and I’ve had so many other lovely thing’s to post about so in the future i think i’m going to post a book review every other Sunday, That way i can fit everything in (yay).

Right and now on with the review.

So today i have another book by the fabulous Miss Lindsey Kelk, but this time it’s the stand alone book The single girl’s to-do list and in it we meet Rachel Summer’s whose whole life is basically based upon to-do list’s but one thing that is not on her list is a break up (opp’s).

But luckily she has best friend’s Emelie and Matthew (who you will just love trust me) to help her out, and they make her a whole different kind of list that will get her into all kind’s of mischief along the way.

I think you fall in love with Rachel just as much as you did with Angela from the I heart Series and this is the perfect book to sit down for an hour and have a cup of coffee with and just escape into.

There are lot’s of character’s that you will love and one or two that you will love to hate, And there may even be a special guest appearance from a certain Jenny Lopez (yeah not that one)

Lindsey Kelk The Single Girl’s To-Do List is available from all good book shop’s for £6.99 or you can be all modern and download it onto your kindle for £3.99 bargain.

Have you read any of Lindsey Kelk’s novel’s in the past? tell me your thought’s on them in the comment’s.

Thank’s for reading.

Cecelia Ahern The Gift Book Review

the gift 002

Okay so it’s time for a book review once again and i thought i would write one about a lovely story called The Gift by the wonderful Cecelia Ahern who is such an amazing author and has so many lovely book’s out but this one is set at Christmas and been as it’s just around the corner it’s perfect timing so i hope you like it.

Now on with the review.

In this lovely story we get to meet Lou Suffern a man who i’ll be honest you don’t exactly love at first as he isn’t the nicest person in the world he isn’t really there for his family at all but is like most people wishes he could be in two places at the same time.

But when he meet’s Gabe a homeless man that sit’s outside his work Lou’s life start’s to change in way’s he never imagined possible.

This is a really thought provoking story that will stay with you long after you’ve closed the book and whilst you start off not really liking Lou slowly as the book go’s on you start to see an entirely different side to him that’s not so bad after all.

The best way i can think to describe Cecelia’s writing is a fairy-tail for grown up’s in the way that there ever so slightly magical and enchanting and grab your heart as much as story’s used to when we where children and this novel especially it has so many twist’s and turn’s that you just don’t know what to expect in the end (which is nice when you think how many book’s are out there that you really know how it’s going to end from the first page).

And it’s one of those that you really want to get to the last page to find out what happen’s for Lou and his family but at the same time you don’t want that last page to Finnish and i have to say i did find myself in tear’s at certain point’s (if you’ve read this then you know what i mean i’m sure)

But i love the fact that it really make’s you think and appreciate what’s important in life (deep i know but it’s true trust me)

I adore this novel and would recommend it to everyone. it’s just one of those that you simply have to read and is perfect for this time of the year when you can snuggle up with a nice cup of coffee or whatever take’s your fancy.

The Gift by Cecelia Ahern is available at all good bookshops for £7.99 or you can download it onto your kindle for £3.99.

Have you read this or any of Cecelia Ahern’s other amazing book’s? let me know your thought’s on them as i love to hear from you.

Thank’s for reading.

I Heart Christmas Review

Image

First thing’s first YAY i have waited so long for this book and i’m so pleased to be able to finally write my review on it. And in the past five week’s i have also written review’s on the other five book’s in the I Heart series so we’ve had New York, Hollywood, Paris, Vegas and London and now we totally have Christmas (cue a woo).

So Angela Clark is back at the best time of the year and she has it all planned out there’s Christmas tree’s eggnog and far too many gingerbread Christmas tree’s than is healthy along with lot’s of quality time with her man Alex. But when do thing’s ever go to plan (never they never go to plan especially in book land)

Angela has got a lot to deal with a huge new job to start with and this time Cici Spencer is back once again but weirdly being nice (what’s that all about) and as if she need’s anything else to deal with on top of that New York BFF Jenny Lopez and Alex have suddenly gone baby mad (perfect timing) and then there’s a couple of unexpected visitors turning up on her doorstep just to add to the fun. Will she ever be able to get her perfect Christmas back on track?

You totally get drawn back into Angela’s world from the very first page in this lovely novel. And this is the absolutely perfect book to get you into the Christmas spirit and is full of so many bit’s that i guarantee will have you crying with laughter (especially on page 251 just saying).

And let’s face it by now you get what a Fabulous writer Lindsey Kelk is and i’m sure you will adore this story as much as i do.

Now let’s just hope there’s going to be another I heart book and soon because these are just too good.

Lindsey Kelk’s I Heart Christmas is out now at all good book shop’s for £7.99 or you can download it onto your kindle for £3.56

Thank’s for reading.

Pretty Book Find’s

Image

Here are three beautiful book’s that i have recently added to my collection (i love them a very lot)

Firstly there’s Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland & Other Stories priced at £25.00 from Waterstones

Now this is quite possibly the most beautiful book that i have ever laid eye’s on (Ever) and has a beautiful pink leather cover with black and gold and did i mention it’s beautiful because it really is. And i almost bought this last year when i was in Waterstones but for some reason didn’t get it straight away and when i went back for it they had stopped selling it, i could have cried (seriously i get very passionate about book’s) But the other week when i was on the hunt for I Heart Christmas (also on the list yay) there it was calling me from a nearby table and there was no way i was missing out this time. And i’m going to treasure this for the rest of my life. (and i might possibly be hugging it as i write this not weird at all).

………

Then second in line is Cecelia Ahern, How To Fall In Love priced at £16.99 but on offer at the moment for £11.99 at Waterstones.

This is Cecelia Ahern’s Newest novel and only came out a few week’s ago. And i have to say that i am such a huge fan of her writing it just captivates you and is simply magical whichever one of her story’s you pick up. So i look forward to reading this lovely work of art.

……..

And lastly we have the wonderful Lindsey Kelk I Heart Christmas priced at £7.99 from Waterstones

Yay Angela Clark is back and it’s Christmas this time around. You know by know how much i love all of the I Heart Series so this book might just get a hug too and i can’t wait to delve into Angela’s world once again and find out about all her new adventures so there will be a full review on this on Sunday so pop back to have a little look at that.

So there we have it three AMAZING and very beautiful book’s have you read any of them yet? if so leave your thought’s in the comment’s below i would love to hear from you.

Thank’s for reading.

I Heart London Review

new pics 002

Well look at me posting a book review on the right day and everything (unlike last week bad me). And this week we are onto I Heart London by the fabulous Miss Lindsey Kelk and the fifth book (all of the other’s i have written my review’s on in the last few week’s so have a peek at them if you haven’t already) in the I Heart series (also the last one before I Heart Christmas yay) so on with the review.

Angela Clark is leaving New York and returning to London (just for a bit) and so returning to a very lot of stress too including her cheating ex Mark who was the reason she ran away to New York in the first place, then there’s her best friend since forever Louisa  with her new baby who will only stop crying if Top Gear is on and as if that wasn’t enough she has a wedding to plan or is everyone else planning that for her???

And if you add into that her perfect indie boy Alex and New York best friend Miss Jenny Lopez trying to make sure she doesn’t revert back to her old self and lose everything that she’s worked so hard to build up over the last couple of year’s nothing could really go wrong could it?

This is a perfect read and after I Heart Vegas you need to find out what is happening in Angela’s world. plus you have a great guide to London what more could you possibly ask for?

And another plus is that once you’ve read this brilliant book you will be all up to date for I Heart Christmas Lindsey’s brand new shiny (and really quite sparkly) book woo.

And you know by now that Lindsey Kelk is a fabulous writer so i think that is all.

I Heart London is available from all good bookshops for £7.99 or you can download it right this second from amazon for the great price of £3.66.

Thank’s for reading.

I Heart Vegas Review

Image

Sorry for not posting a book review yesterday (i got a bit sidetracked) but i hope to make up for it today with my review on Lindsey Kelk’s I Heart Vegas which is the fourth book in the I Heart series. I have written reviews on the other three in earlier post’s I Heart New York Review, I Heart Hollywood Review and I Heart Paris Review so do check them out if you have a moment.

And now onto Vegas and Angela Clark is back again. Still loving her life in New York but she hasn’t got her job (thank’s to evil Cici Spencer) and when the immigration department find out they aren’t happy. So she either need’s to find a job (like right now) or get married but there’s noway she could bring that up with Alex is there?.

So cue a big girl’s weekend in Vegas with New York Fairy Godmother Jenny Lopez will Angela be able to forget all of her trouble’s as she get’s caught up in the moment of cocktails and glamorous nights out and the chapel of love or will it just cause even more trouble?.

This is very much a book that will make you laugh (and at time’s cry your little heart out) and has quite the Christmas feel to it so it’s the perfect time to read it if you haven’t before or if your re-reading the series before you read I Heart Christmas (which was released this week yay).

Lindsey Kelk just has the perfect writing style that just draw’s you in and will make you fall in love with Angela as you cheer for her to make the right decisions.

This is a brilliant book to curl up on the sofa with a nice cup of coffee and just disappear into and i’m sure you will love it as much as i do.

Lindsey Kelk I Heart Vegas is available in all good bookshops for £6.99 or you can download it onto your kindle for £4.27

Thank’s for reading.

I Heart Paris Review

paris 002

Hello so it is sunday at last which of course mean’s book review time (yay). And this week it’s all about Lindsey Kelk once again this time with the third book in her I Heart series I Heart Paris (look how pretty the cover is). i wrote my review’s on the other two book’s in my earlier post’s I Heart New York Review and I Heart Hollywood Review. So if you missed them go catch up.

Right so now on with the novel …

And Angela Clark is back once again (woo) but this time she’s off too the city of love with her man Alex but will it be as romantic as thay both hope?.

Between Alex about to play at a festival with his band the Stills and Angela having to write a piece for top fashion magazine Belle will thay be able to find any time for each other.

And when you throw Alex meeting up with his ex girlfriend ( yeah the one that compleately broke his heart just before he met Angela) into the mix, Along with someone trying very hard to destroy Angela’s big break (something truely terrble happen’s to one of the marc jacobs bag’s but that is all i am saying) will she be able to cope with it all?.

Especially when London and everything and everyone she ran away from a year ago is just a train ride away will Angela decide now is the right time to go back and face it all.

This story is scattered with load’s of surprises and make’s you fall in love with Lindsey Kelk’s writing all over again as you delve into Angela’s world once again. This is one of my absolute favourite book’s in this series and i’m sure you will love it as much as me do let me know your thought’s in the comment’s below.

Plus for an extra treat just like in I Heart New York and I Heart Hollywood there’s a fabulous guide to Paris with the best places to stay along with great bar’s, shop’s and restaurant’s perfect for planning your very own trip.

Lindsey Kelk’s I Heart Paris is available in paperback from all good bookstore’s for £7.99 or you can download it onto your kindle for £3.99 perfect for escaping for a little while.

Thank’s for reading.

Books Books And More Books

theadore 009

Every sunday i am going to blog about books because there is simply nothing better ( In my opinion ) than snuggling up on a freezing cold afternoon with a good book and a cup of coffee and drifting into another world for those few moments.

As you can see i’ve put up pictures of some books by two of my favourite authors Cecelia Ahern and Lindsey Kelk and over the coming weeks i will write a review on each book and hopefully show you just how amazing they all are.

There are also a few books that arent in the pictures because i have them on my kindle or they aren’t actually out yet because both authors have brand new shiney books coming out in the next few weeks ( But trust me as soon as i get my hands on them there will be pictures )

But here’s a list of all that i will be reviewing inbetween all my beauty finds starting with …

Lindsey Kelk:

Jenny Lopez Has a Bad Week (exclusive digital download story out now) ( and no it isnt that jenny lopez haha )

The Single Girls To-do List (out now)

About a Girl (out now)

Now i am such a huge fan of Lindsey kelk and i think you will love her books as much as i do they will make you laugh ( a very lot ) and whatever book of hers you are reading you really feel like you are in that place with those characters and i cant wait to get reading them again.

And now for Cecelia ahern her writing is simply magical and the best way to describe them would be like a modern day fairy tale but for grown ups and every story will keep you guessing until the very last page.

Cecelia Ahern:

P.S. I Love You (out now)

Where Rainbows End (out now)

If You Could See Me Now (out now)
